Our #7 ranked prospect in the 2015 class came off the board on Monday when high scoring wing Prince Ali gave a verbal commitment to UConn. The 6’4, athletic junior was a First Team All-Broward County selection last season at Pines Charter before transferring to Sagemont this fall.

Golden Eagles Add PG

Lake Wales senior Savonte Frazier gave a verbal commitment to Tennessee Tech on Monday. The 6’0 point guard was an All-Polk County selection last season and chose the Eagles over Savannah State.

Arlington Country Day’s Dante Buford became the fourth member of the Apaches’ 2014 class to commit to a Division I program after a pledge to Oklahoma on Thursday afternoon. The 6’8 combo forward chose the Sooners over South Carolina and Miami.

Oak Ridge senior Marquel Willis announced his decision in front of a packed gym of Oak Ridge fans on Friday and let them know that he will attend Morehead State next fall. The 6’5 athletic wing averaged 19 points per game last year and chose the Eagles over Georgia Southern, UT-Chattanooga, Ball State and others.

Orlando Christian Prep’s Jonathan Joseph became the second member of Head Coach Reggie Kohn’s program to commit to a Division I program on Wednesday after making a verbal pledge to Stetson. Joseph chose the Hatters over Campbell and North Carolina A&T.

Tampa Catholic senior Chivarsky Corbett has given a verbal commitment to Delaware. The 6’6 high scoring wing averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds per game last season. Corbett played this offseason with Florida Select.

Nickels Picks the Penguins

On Friday, Sickles senior Bryce Nickels became the second prospect from the state’s 2014 class to commit to Youngstown State. The 6’9 transfer from Steinbrenner will join St. Thomas Aquinas’ Sidney Umude next season in Ohio.

Nickels was an All-County selection last season after averaging over 13 points and nearly 8 rebounds per game. He chose the Penguins over Jacksonville, George Mason and Florida Atlantic.

Lawrence Chooses Central Florida

UCF’s 2015 recruiting class is back to three members after a verbal commitment from Lakewood’s Anthony Lawrence on Wednesday. The 6’7 sharpshooting forward chose the Knights over Clemson, FIU, Louisiana Tech, FAU and Texas A&M. Lawrence will join Oak Ridge junior Alex Owens and Deltona’s Chad Brown in the 2015 class.

FGCU Adds Norland Guard

Miami Norland senior Zach Johnson verbally committed to Florida Gulf Coast University on Monday. The 6’2 guard was a First Team All-Dade County selection last season under Head Coach Lawton Williams. Johnson chose the Eagles over FIU, Murray State and Georgia Southern.
